Polish Talk: Salma Hayek Nuance in Pink Grapefruit

I posted a picture of this lovely on Instagram last week because I am absolutely crazy about this color.   While at CVS last week, I was on a mission to find some new Spring nail polishes.  I made my way to Salma Hayek (not literally of course, although I wish) and saw that her nail polishes, as opposed to the rest of her beauty line, was pretty affordable so I thought I'd try something new.  Readers meet Pink Grapefruit - Pink Grapefruit meet my readers.  This is the perfect Spring / Summer color, so if you're looking for a color like this, write this down and get it when you can.  You won't be disappointed.  Now, allow me to give you the run down on this beauty.

• Price:  $5.99

• Color:  Pink Grapefruit - a nice mix of peach and pink
• Opacity Level on a 1-5 scale:  2 with one coat, 4 with two coats and 5 with light, buildable three coats
• Brush:  medium
• Size:  0.5 ounces
• Claims:  Chip resistant, long wear, natural botanical extracts, toluene free, formaldehyde free, DBP free

Nails of the Day: China Glaze Sea Spray

If you're not following me on Twitter then you missed an "official statement" regarding a nail polish no buy for August.  Basically after buying a ridiculous, excessive amount of nail polishes in July, I decided that I needed to hold off on buying anything new in August and would instead shop my stash.  I've already almost failed several times but I'm proud to say, 14 days in and I'm doing great.  Anyway, in shopping my stash I came across this beauty and decided to wear it.  I fell in love all over again.

Sea Spray is from China Glaze's Spring 2011 Anchors Away Collection.  Although this was released as a Spring color, as I have said before, I'm a rule breaker - I wear what I want, when I want. :)  This color can be described as a light dusty blue but (to me) changes colors in natural and artificial lighting.  Sometimes I see some hints of faint turquoise and other times I see a sea foam green.  In the bottle there is a white pearlized shimmer although it doesn't seem to noticeably transfer over to the nails.  The formula is nice and creamy and pretty opaque with one coat but definitely better with two.

In A Committed Relationship With Too Faced (Boudoir Eyes)

First of all, I don't know what rock I've been hiding under but I have discovered Too Faced and am in complete love with this brand.  It all started when I went on a date with La Creme lipstick in Cinnamon Kiss.  After that initial date, I knew I was in love and had to see more of Too Faced.  I have since collected more La Creme lipsticks (in which I will have a post on later-they deserve one all by themselves:) and have branched out into other makeup items from this brand, including (drumroll please..) the Boudoir Eyes Palette.

This palette's packaging is different from their traditional eye shadow palettes because this one is in tin form.  The packaging alone is gorgeous, from the colors to the pattern, font, etc.  Take a look for yourself:

The Boudoir Eyes Palette has five new shades in it.  The new shades are:  Fuzzy Handcuffs, Voulez-Vous, Garter Belt, Sugar Walls and French Tickler.  There is a total of nine shades and all are very soft, creamy, pigmented and blendable. There's a nice mix of creams, light beige, irridescent pink, plums, taupes and the rich/dark brown with gold flecks. I have no complaints against the quality of the shadows. The palette also includes a Glamour Guide which features three looks that you can copy for a day, classic or fashion look..of course the options to mix shadows to form a look are almost endless.

So there you have it, one of my new loves.  I love this palette and think it's great for an every day look or you can certainly smoke a look out with the shade French Tickler or Voulez-Vous.
